Spectrometers - New

Our main specialisation is selling, upgrading and servicing new and used Spectrometers, we have all kinds of spectometer related equipment and we currently have the new Belec Spectrometer range available.  Come and see what its all about at G&C Instruments.

G & C Instrument Services Pty Ltd are agents for Belec Spektrometrie Opto-Elektronik GmbH who manufacture a range of Optical Emission spectrometers designed for metals analysis.  The range includes the VARIO LAB stationary laboratory spectrometer, the new LAB3000s desktop model and the COMPACT PORT portable instrument.

Introducing the new desktop spectrometer class, now with optional RSS Remote Support Software.

The new Belec Lab 3000s provides a compact, top grade spectrometer that is exceptionally economical for metal analysis, in small- and medium-sized enterprises.  It comes with inert-gas breathed spectrometer optics and is configured for the most-wanted analytical applications.  The new, small-sized analyser achieves low detection limits and excellent precision which has previously only been known in larger stationary spectrometers.  Photomultipliers have been implemented for signal-to-noise detection levels, which has not been exceeded by other technologies.  An innovative Argon flushing system inside the spark chamber means very low Argon flow requirements.  Also the inert-gas optics means no vacuum pump is required and therefore no extra maintenance and running costs. This contributes to very low operating costs.

The small shelf area of Belec Lab 3000s and it's low weight of 49Kg enables installation even in a restricted space, e.g. on a desk.  Special lab arrangements are unnecessary.

The Belec Lab 3000s is highly recommended for metals analysis.

Up to a maximum of 24 element channels are possible.  The Lab 3000s comes complete with one base module calibration. Including a set of drift samples.

Possible to upgrade for two additional base materials.

Options include: Spark stand adapters for rods, tubes, wires and small pieces.

The Lab 3000s has an open stand with automatic sample clamping. This means that the size of sample is not restricted by a door and a variety of sample sizes can be easily analysed on this spark stand. Safety, argon pressure and flow are all monitored by the spectrometer electronics.

Belec Compact Port

With a weight of only 17 kg this extremely powerful spectrometer is the smallest of its kind. It is particularly easy to handle. The software can be operated by touch screen. For extensive data input, e.g. detailed sample description or for creating additionally material grades, the full size keyboard can be used also. Optionally a mouse can be connected.

Data is displayed by TFT display, which offers the highest contrast ratio and reading angle among flat screens. The size of the display guarantees easy reading of results.
You can transfer data with a serial port, USB connector or by floppy disc to other computer. Optionally an Ethernet connection to your local net is available.

The Belec-WIN 21-Software is used to control the belec compact port. The display shows the analysis and average of a number of measurements, relative and absolute standard deviation and the evaluation of analysis results by comparison with entries in a material data bank. The new grade indication shows automatically the material grade which corresponds to the analyse result. Therefore, operation of the belec compact port is considerably simplified, particularly for less experienced users.

The Compact Port can be configured for multi-base use and up to 36 measuring channels. It can be used in field applications and can have a variety of adapters fitted to the probe to enable direct analysis of rods, wires, tubes and small parts.

3 different types of probe are available. Air, standard argon flushed and special argon flushed. The special probe allows the user to  accurately analyse elements including Carbon, Sulphur and Phosphorous. The standard probe allows for accurate analysis of elements including Carbon. The air probe is for "quick" result of Mix-up and Grade Sorting.

A special measuring stand attachment can be included to perform analysis on typical furnace samples.

All above attachments can be quickly detached and another one added in just a few seconds. A "quick-release" plug and socket allows for the very quick change-over.

There is an option for a fixed trolley or an alternative collapsible trolley. (For easy transportation of the trolley.)  There are also aluminium transportation boxes available for transporting the Compact Port and the probes. These are ideal for safe storage and transportation of the equipment by road, etc.

For more information on the Compact Port and the options available, please contact us.

Belec Vario Lab

Belec has introduced a new generation of spectrometers with the Belec Vario Lab.
Because of its flexibility, the Belec Vario Lab is cost efficient and easily adapted to any base material and most sample shapes and sizes of metal materials.
This unit is very robust, reliable, easy to handle and requires little floor space.
Belec's experience and their many years of spectrometer development ensure the instruments have measuring stability and precise analyses.

A special advantage of the Belec Vario Lab is its low operation costs. This is accomplished with a very low Argon usage and almost no need for maintenance. The power consumption is also very low. ( For the inert-gas flushed spectrometer, 100w in standby and 600w in use.)
The Belec Vario Lab is one of the most advanced, precise and flexible analysis system on the market.  New optional software (RSS) enables Remote Support System.

Up to three spectrometers, with 36 channels available in each spectrometer, means that it is possible to fit a total of 108 channels.
The inert gas flushed optics need hardly any maintenance and can be used in most applications. Thus element channels, such as, Cr, Mo, Ni Si can also be combined with low wavelength channels, such as, Carbon, Sulphur and Phosphorous.
For special applications, vacuum as well as air optics are available. For instance, low level detection of Nitrogen requires special optics and a vacuum system.

To enable a wider range of samples to be analysed, full sets of adapters are available. These include adapters for tubes, rods, wires, small metal parts and ball-bearings.  The spark stand has automatic sample clamping and has electronic monitoring to help ensure a good burn on each sample analysis.

Custom-made spectrometers can be ordered from the factory for special applications and complex materials. (Enquiries welcome)

A second sparkstand can also be fitted. This is desirable when there are possible "cross-over" effects or contamination problems at trace levels when analysing different base materials, i.e. Pb and Zn base materials.

A probe can also be added to a spark stand configuration. This enables the user to analyse large materials or castings without the need to cut or destroy the product.   Applications include billet, large pipes, scrap material and castings.
